Eschatology review online
By Ron McRay
February 10, 2002
"This 'telephone' has too many shortcomings to be seriously considered as
a means of communication. The device is inherently of no value to us."
[Western Union internal memo, 1876.]
How many things have not been taken seriously, simply because someone
failed to take a very close look at something that they have not
encountered, understood or seen before? Well, I believe realized
eschatology is one of those things. I hope that you will seriously
consider it for at least 6 months – I believe you will be surprised to
what conclusions you reach at that point.
Since I have published online the first two articles (this is the third),
I thought it might be good to share with you all the
returned e-mail responses I have received about its introduction. We will
study some more next week about realized eschatology (a study of last
things).
The following are from our online readers:

I think it's a great idea to put the Review on-line. People are e-mail
junkies and love to forward stuff that is already on their computer and
send it to those that might be interested. I think people are more likely
to read stuff on their e-mail as well if it comes from someone they know.
There have been times when I
wished I had an article of yours already on my computer for just that
purpose. [M.P.]

Ron I love your articles/ they are short / sweet / accurate and to the
point/ I love you brother / hang in there [D.G].

I received it with no problem and I agree with it and most
dispensationalists agree that Luke is talking about AD 70, but, they just
can’t "see" what these 2 verses are saying. [V.M.]

Regardless of how you decide to distribute your newsletter, I think it
should continue and it should not be a financial burden to you in the
process. This could wind up being a situation where what you would need
from us individually would enable me to contribute more to help others
receive it w/o cost to themselves –
my funds are limited, but I am willing to "pitch in." You bet!
Contributing to your work is something I
would be willing to do...ER is a publication that should
not be silenced in my estimation. [J.W.]

Just finished reading ER Online. I think it's a great format. I look
forward to reading more of them in the future. This first article is
important. It establishes a couple of fundamental truths.
1. Unless Jesus knew what he was talking about, we cannot depend on him.
2. If Jesus knew what he was talking about, we must believe him even when
others teach differently.
3. When we follow Jesus, it may cost us our friends.
Well done, my friend. [A.M.]

Ron, I'm confused. Is this going to be the same as the hard copy? I want
to keep getting ER some way. I was fixing to send you some money so that
I wouldn' t get dropped. [K.C.]
(It is not the same as the hard copy. The hard copy will continue each
month, as this is just some overflow that I wanted to get out to as many
as possible. Those on the hard copy mailing list –will continue to
receive Eschatology Review monthly. Those of you on email will get these
as I have time, hopefully once weekly, if I am not out of town ~editor~)

I read your eschatology piece. Very good! Go ahead and add me to your
list. Here is a thought I feel is important. When you confront the
dispensationalists with the verse about "this generation," their answer
is "generation can mean race." So they aren't impressed with "this
generation." They have thought of a loophole. So I always add the
"definition" Jesus gives in Matt 16:28, but it zeroes in on exactly who
He is speaking to: "Some of you standing here will still be alive...."
They can't answer that. [P.F.]
There are three places where it specifies "some of you standing here."
MAT 16:28 "Truly I say to you, there are some of those who are
standing here who shall not taste death until they see the Son of Man
coming in His kingdom."
MAR 9:1 And He was saying to them, "Truly I say to you, there are
some of those who are standing here who shall not taste death until they
see the kingdom of God after it has come with power."
LUKE 9:27 "But I say to you truthfully, there are some of those
standing here who shall not taste death until they see the kingdom of
God."
God bless each and every one of you. I enjoy hearing from you and
appreciate your thoughts. Occasionally, I will put letters from our
readers here for you to look at, even a bad one, if I get one.
There are two primary things I would like to do with Eschatology Review,
and that is (1) help people understand that "all things were fulfilled" [Lk.
21:22] in the First Century AD, and (2) to help people understand things
they are to be doing today. Have a happy week. I will be out of town this
coming weekend for a seminar, so it will be after 18th before
you get issue #4.
Love
Ron McRay
